Trojan Women--Extra Credit

The Greeks regarded the words of their great playwrights as "theopneutos," i.e., God-breathed. Do you agree? Cite a line or two from Euripides' "Trojan Women" that might show why the Greeks regarded writers like Euripides as almost equivalent to prophets. Explain why you find this line/these lines inspired or inspiring.

I find the line "She died as she died- And yet in death she was luckier than I who lived" The reason why I find this line inspiring is due to that fact that even though she has a heavy heart she realizes that there is a better life beyond life. She realizes there is no more sorrows in life after death, her heart will no longer be heavy and she will be able to experience true happiness after life.

The line that i found was most inspiring was, "Great art has no limits of locality or time. Its tidings are timeless, and its messages are universal". I found this passage to be mean no matter what happens you can always turn to Art as inspiration and no matter what you can/will always have art in your life.

I liked the line "When a man shrinks not from a deed neither is he scared by a word" as said by Oedipus on page 134. This is exceedenly interesting to me because he is basically that if a man will not steer away from an action that is potentially dangerous to him or others, then he will not turn away from words that are said.

I like the line, " o my daughter throw away the holy branches, throw off the scared livery, of chaplets that deck your person." the reason why i like this line is because i think this means that she has a stressful life and she needs to take away the problems in her life. She needs to get a new life, a better life.

Surely my knees are weary, but I kneel above your head;
Hearken, O ye so silent! My hands beat your bed!
I find these lines are inspiring because it shows resiliance in the people that even though they might be down or have something wrong they can strive to persevere
